The house

"The Treasure Box" is a true architectural gem. A house built entirely out of natural stone, rich in ancient marble artefacts and with exclusive furnishings. Our offer is aimed at individualists with style, who love and appreciate the extraordinary. "The Treasure Box" is an exclusive self-catering accommodation. Its facilities are designed for two people, ideally couples who seek a romantic retreat on their holiday and value privacy.

The centrepiece of the living area is a traditional sofa in the distinctive style that used to be typical of the villas and mansions of Milos. The spacious kitchenette offers everything you need and plenty of space for cooking. The stylish dining table with leather upholstered chairs seats two people.

The bathroom has a unique feature: The shower is in an antique marble watering trough, a massive monolith that has found a new purpose here. Guests who love the extraordinary will feel at home in this bathroom. Naturally, all sanitary installations meet modern standards. The dimensions and confined space make it impossible to install a shower enclosure. Therefore, we use high-end shower curtains and every guest receives a fresh shower curtain when moving in for hygienic reasons.

A spiral staircase leads to the upper floor, where you will find the bedroom. It is dominated by a king size bed, measuring a comfortable 1.80 x 2.00 m, which takes up most of the space. We consciously decided not to make any compromises, so that we can offer you excellent sleeping comfort with this custom-made product, despite the restricted size of the room. The wardrobe for your clothes is on the ground floor. This is both due to the restricted space and for safety reasons, as it saves you having to carry heavy suitcases up the narrow spiral staircase.

The location

"The Treasure Box" is situated right in the historical centre of Plaka around Panagia Korfiatissa church. The house is situated only 30 metres from the church, close to many shops, excellent restaurants and trendy cafés and bars. Nevertheless, its location is very quiet, because the alleys in front of and behind the house are purely residential. As is often the case in traditional villages on the Greek islands, the town centre of Plaka is not accessible by car. It’s important to know that you can only reach "The Treasure Box" on foot. The footpath leading from the end of the street in the upper part of Plaka to the house is about 100 metres long and nearly flat.
